Update on Wyatt

Mr. Wyatt is doing great! He is rolling over both ways now and loves to stand on our laps when we hold him. He is so strong--I think he'll be walking much sooner than Isaac did. He is gaining weight like crazy! Last visit he was almost 18 pounds and that was weeks ago. I'm sure he is close to 20 by now. He is such a happy baby and has the best smile. He is still having some trouble with reflux, but it isn't too bad.

We got the Jumperoo out of the attic today, and he was having so much fun, he wore himself out and fell asleep!

Isaac's 3-year Checkup

My baby just isn't a baby anymore! We took him for his 3-year-checkup at the pediatrician last week. We are so blessed that this was his first visit since October! He has been such a healthy toddler. Most of you remember his rough start with the terrible reflux and trouble eating/gaining weight. Well, he has finally caught up. He has always been in the 10th percentile for weight and around the 50th for height. At this checkup, though, he is 34 pounds, which is the 75th!! And, for height he is 39 inches, which is the 90th percentile! No shots at this visit, which was great! We will continue to work on potty training (we're close!) and we need to get him to the dentist for his first visit. Otherwise, he is doing so well and of course impressed Dr. Clark with his colors, numbers, letters, etc. He is great and we are so proud of him!

Isaac's Birthday Party

We celebrated Isaac's birthday with the family on Sunday, June 7th. I decided to do a fire truck theme, as he seems to be so into them right now. I work with two ladies whose husbands are firemen
and they told me that they can bring trucks out for b-day parties. I called and they were so nice and brought 2 trucks! One had to leave on a call soon after it got there, but the big ladder truck stayed for about 30 minutes. The kids (and adults!) were fascinated! It was so much fun. Unfortunately, Isaac was a bit intimidated so he didn't actually get on the truck, but he loved looking at it from a distance!

As you can see, cousin Alex loved the truck! So cute waving at us. After the truck left, we went back inside for presents, cake and ice cream. He got some great toys of course and although a bit overwhelmed, I think he had a great day. It was so nice having everyone around to celebrate with us.

I did make the cake myself, but I must admit it was a lot of work!! Not sure how often I'll do it, but it was fun for him to be excited about it.

Isaac Turns 3!

It is hard to believe, but Isaac turned 3 last week on June 3rd. It seems so cliched to say it, but time is just flying by! I found that I was more excited for his birthday than I am for my own! We wanted to make it really special on the actual day, because it really is the first day that he "gets" the concept of birthday. He doesn't really know what day it is, but he definitely understands the presents and cake! Anyway, we started the day with chocolate chip pancakes with 3 candles.

Then we gave him his first present--a Handy Manny tool set.

When we visited Kelli and Lex last month, Isaac fell in love with Lex's.

After that, we played for a while and then gave him his second gift--a scooter! He was really excited at first, but he spent about 2 minutes on it and hasn't touched it since! Oh well, I'm sure he'll go back to it at some point. Next was lunch at Chick-Fil-A, which he loves.

After a nap, Brant had an idea to get him a pizza with the pepperoni in the shape of the number 3. Isaac loved it!

Then it was a cupcake with a candle and singing Happy Birthday. He was exhausted when he went to bed, but I think he had a really good day. His party was Sunday--more on that later.
